Smith, who played his first match for Sydney Sixers this season, played an unbeaten inning of 121 runs in 64 balls against Perth Scorchers, in which he hit 10 fours and 7 sixes. This is the fourth century of Smith's T20 career, to complete which Smith faced 58 balls. With this, he has come joint fifth in terms of scoring most T20 centuries as an Australian. Apart from him, Josh English has also scored four centuries in this format.
Apart from this, Smith has come joint first in terms of scoring most centuries in the history of Big Bash League. Smith, who made his BBL debut in 2011, has now scored three centuries in 32 innings. In this list, he has equaled Ben McDermott, who has 3 centuries in 96 innings in the tournament.
