Bodies of 4 laborers have been taken out from the coal mine in Assam, search for 5 is still going on.


New Delhi. Even after 5 days have passed since the accident in the coal mine of Assam, the relief and rescue work has not been completed yet. Bodies of 3 more workers were taken out from the mine today. Earlier on Thursday, the body of a laborer was taken out from the mine. There is still no trace of 5 labourers. Efforts to find him are continuing. Navy divers are searching for workers in the mine. Apart from this, Army personnel, NDRF and SDRF teams are also engaged in relief and rescue work.

Air Force helicopters are also helping in taking the items related to relief work to the spot. As the days are passing, the hope of survival of the workers trapped in the mine is also decreasing. The relatives of the workers trapped in the mine are sitting outside gazing in the hope that their son, husband and brother will be rescued soon. It is being told that this mine was under the Assam Mineral Development Corporation till three years ago but since then it was closed. One person has been arrested in this case. It is being said that he brought laborers into the mine to extract coal illegally.

This mine is located at Umrangso in Dima Hasao district of Assam. When the workers were working in this 300 feet deep coal mine, it suddenly got filled with water, after which 9 workers got trapped. This incident happened on Monday 6 January. Since then the rescue work is going on continuously. On Thursday, the body of a laborer was taken out from the mine. Whereas the bodies of 3 laborers were taken out from the mine today. CM Hemant Biswa Sarma is keeping an eye on the entire incident.
