Aina Asif’s new drama teaser sparks controversy
Aina Asif is the next star in the Pakistani drama industry. She became a popular actress by doing hits such as Baby Baaji and Mayi Ri. However, her latest drama’s teaser, Judwaan, has been very much criticized on social media.
She is known from the popular dramas Pehli Si Muhabbat, Dil Maane Na, Badnaseeb, Hum Tum, Pehchaan, and Pinjra. Aina Asif continues juggling her acting career with education as she continues her studies. She has received massive acclaim lately for her performance in Woh Ziddi Si.
Aina Asif will be starring in Judwaan, a drama that will soon be airing on Hum TV. The drama is written by Fizza Jaffri and Urooj Bint-e-Arsalan and directed by Furqan Adam. It is produced under BJ Productions and MD Productions. The drama revolves around sibling rivalry, and this will be the first time Aina will play double roles.
The teaser of the movie, despite the unusual storyline, has received much criticism. People have expressed disappointment in casting Aina, 16, in mature roles and that it takes away her innocence. Many people also feel that the pairing of this actress with an older actor like Adnan Raza Mir is not appropriate. One user wrote, “Stop casting underage actresses with 30-year-old actors.”
Adding to the controversy, some viewers alleged that the drama is a copy of the Indian serial Ishq Mein Marjawan. Similar criticism was directed at Aina’s previous project, Woh Ziddi Si, where fans urged producers to offer her age-appropriate roles.
The debate raises questions concerning casting decisions within the Pakistani entertainment industry and questions the challenges the young actors of the industry go through. But despite all that, Judwaan promises an interesting narrative for Aina Asif as she takes on the challenging double role.
Remember that Pakistani actress Aina Asif, celebrated for her roles in popular dramas such as Baby Baji, Mayi Ri, Pinjra, Yahya, and Hum Tum, is gaining recognition for her performance in Woh Ziddi Si, a drama currently airing on Hum TV.
In the series, she plays a privileged young girl whose life takes a turn when her father marries her teacher.
