AAP MLA died due to bullet, post mortem revealed, body brought to home… last rites to be held at 3 o'clock

Ludhianah Big news is coming from Ludhiana, Punjab, where the body of Aam Aadmi Party MLA Gurpreet Bassi has been kept at his residence for the last darshan. A large crowd of supporters has gathered at the house. He died due to gunshot wound on Friday. According to family members, the bullet was fired while he was cleaning his pistol.

The last rites will be performed at the crematorium near KVM School in Ludhiana at 3 pm. CM Bhagwant Mann will reach Gogi's house at 2.30 pm. On the other hand, Ludhiana's posh market Ghumar Mandi has been kept closed.

Regarding the incident, DCP Jaskiran Singh Teja said that the pistol was of 25 bore. The servant told that the fire was from his own weapon. However, he also said that it is too early to say anything about the circumstances under which the death occurred. During this time, the DCP has also rejected the fact that he was in depression.

Videography was done while post-mortem of the dead body was done at DMC Hospital. A panel of doctors has conducted the post-mortem. According to sources, the bullet entered Gogi's right side and exited from his left side.

Gurpreet Bassi has been a city councilor three times. Apart from this, he was also the district head of Congress. In 2022, he left Congress and joined Aam Aadmi Party. After this he became MLA from Ludhiana West.
