Recently, Business Insider has reported that Microsoft is planning to reduce the number of employees in the company. The company can show the way out to those employees who are not meeting the expectations in their performance, i.e. who are underperforming.
There are currently about 2,28,000 employees working in Microsoft. This number may decrease in the next few months. Even before this, the company had decided to lay off 10,000 employees in 2023 and 4,000 in 2024. Now once again the company is thinking of reducing the number of its employees, especially for those employees who have not been able to improve their performance.
Microsoft spokesperson has confirmed the layoff decision. He informed that some posts have also been filled again. This means that in some departments there is a need for employees, while in some departments a plan is being made to reduce the number of employees. The last few years have seen recession and downfall in the IT sector. This has been a challenging time for these companies. Despite this, Microsoft has invested extensively in the field of AI. The company has announced to invest billions of dollars in AI technology.
Overall, this step of the company is to lay off those employees who are not able to improve their performance. A total of 2,28,000 employees are working in this company till June 2024.
