Pran, one of the most iconic villains in the history of our cinema, made his mark with his unforgettable roles. He made his debut in Yamla Jatt in 1940, alongside M. Ismail and Noor Jehan. Throughout his career, Pran starred in numerous classics like Azad, Devdas, Ram Aur Shyam, Don, Dostana, and Amar Akbar Anthony. The Actress’ Training Under Pran
Kunickaa Sadanand, in a recent interview, shared details about her relationship with Sunil Sikand and the invaluable lessons she learned from Pran during her early years in the film industry. She said, “I got my training in films from Pran Sahab because my first relationship was with Sunil Sikand, he has a son.” She recalled sitting with Pran in the evenings, while he had his drinks, and listening to his insights about the film industry. She said, “He used to tell me to go to the set on time. If he says 9 o’clock, then you should not leave the house at 9 o’clock. You have to reach there with makeup done at 9 o’clock.”
Sunil Sikand Was A Jealous Boyfriend
Kunickaa Sadanand also revealed that Sunil Sikand was a very jealous boyfriend. She said, “Whenever I was going to sign a film, he would ask whether I was wearing the clothes properly or not. This was visible… so he was like that.” She further shared how he would ensure she was always well-presented when stepping out, even going as far as sharing a room with her and her hairdresser.
The actress recalled a terrifying incident at Mehboob Studios when a producer tried to make inappropriate advances towards her. She said, “The producer put his hand on me, and I got scared. I started thinking if he got angry, he would remove me from the movie, and I will be defamed. I called Pran Sahab’s son, and he told me over the phone not to mess with him again. People started fearing me after that, but I later realized that the word spread and people thought I had a very short-tempered boyfriend.”
Kunickaa Sadanand made her film debut with the horror film, cemetery in 1988. Throughout her career, she starred in about 110 films, often in negative or bold characters.
