Squad announced for India's T20 series against England: Yashasvi Jaiswal's non-selection a major topic of discussion

After the successful completion of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, Team India is now ready to make its presence felt in limited overs cricket with fanfare. India has to play a 5-match T20 series against England from January 22, for which BCCI has announced its squad. This team will be led by Suryakumar Yadav, in which a total of 15 players have been given place.

However, some key players have not been selected in this squad, which includes the name of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal played his last T20 series on the Sri Lanka tour, but this time he has been left out against England. Let us know the reasons behind this.

The main reason for Yashasvi Jaiswal's non-selection could be his workload management. After this 5-match T20 series against England, India has to play a three-match ODI series and then the ICC Champions Trophy. There is a possibility that Jaiswal will be included in the ODI team, although he will be in the role of backup opener there too. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are performing well in ODIs, but Gill's recent form has not been anything special. If his performance declines, Jaiswal may get a chance.

For this reason BCCI is trying to keep him fresh. Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson will start the Indian innings in this series against England. Samson had scored two centuries on the South Africa tour, while Abhishek's performance has declined. Abhishek will have to perform well in these 5 matches, otherwise his place may also be in danger.

  • Suryakumar Yadav (Captain)
