AAP government did not fulfill election promises, BJP accused of 'ruining' Delhi

New Delhi : Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP on Sunday alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party government in the national capital has failed to fulfill all its key poll promises and has ruined Delhi. In a press conference held at the BJP headquarters, senior party leader and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri listed 10 promises, including cleaning the Yamuna and making Delhi pollution-free, which AAP had made before the 2020 elections, but which were not fulfilled.

Taking aim at former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Puri said the AAP national convenor only spreads lies and makes no efforts to fulfill the promises made by his party to the voters.

BJP accused of 'ruining' Delhi

The BJP leader said Kejriwal had come into politics saying that he would not accept big government bungalows and would only use his 'Wagon R' but to live a luxurious life during his tenure as Delhi Chief Minister, he had bought a Got 'Sheeshmahal' built. He has said that AAP has ruined Delhi. Puri also targeted the AAP government in Punjab, saying that the party had promised to end the menace of drugs in the border state but instead the mafias associated with it got more 'energy'.

“From morning till evening they (AAP) are only running advertisements on TV channels,” he said. You have the right (to run ads) because you're paying for them. I am happy that TV channel owners are earning revenue by running advertisements about drug-free leadership of Punjab.” Voting for 70 seats of Delhi Assembly will be held on February 5 and counting of votes will take place on February 8. In the 2015 and 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, AAP won 67 and 62 seats respectively. BJP won three seats in 2015 and eight seats in 2020, while Congress did not get a single seat.
