Indian player scored double hat-trick of centuries, staked claim for Champions Trophy

Karun Nair: Vidarbha captain Karun Nair is in excellent form at the moment. He has scored his fourth consecutive century in the quarter-final match against Rajasthan at Motibagh Cricket Ground in Vadodara. Along with this, he has also staked his claim for Team India. Scored a century in 77 balls

Yash Rathod and Dhruv Shorey got off to a great start for Vidarbha while chasing the mammoth target of 292 runs. During this, both of them added 92 runs for the first wicket. After Yash was out, Karun Nair came to bat. During this, he completed his fourth century in only 77 balls with the help of 11 fours and three sixes. With this, he has become only the third Indian and fifth batsman overall to achieve this feat in List A cricket.

 

Immediately after the century, Nair scored 24 runs with the help of three fours and two sixes in five balls from fast bowler Khalil Ahmed, after which Vidarbha won by nine wickets in 43.3 overs.

Scored 5 centuries in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Vidarbha has qualified for the knockouts after winning all the games in Group D of the tournament. He scored a century in the first match of Vijay Hazare Trophy. After this he played innings of 112*, 111*, 163* and 44* against Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh and Chhattisgarh. He has become the second batsman after Tamil Nadu's Jagadeesan to score five centuries in an edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Karun Nair has become the third batsman after Devdutt Padikkal (4, 2020-21) and Jagadeesan to score four consecutive centuries in List A cricket.
