Team India's new captain final! The search for a strong vice-captain begins, know who is in the race?

Test captaincy: India's performance in the recent Test season has been very disappointing. During this period, Team India had to face a clean sweep against New Zealand at home and then also lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Now India's next Test challenge is the England tour, which will start from June 20. Looking at this tour, some big changes can be seen in the Indian team, one of which is the leadership group.

Bumrah can become the captain of test team

It is believed that Rohit Sharma, who was the captain till now, will not get a chance in the Test team. Now fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah can replace him. After Rohit was out, Bumrah took over the captaincy in the Sydney Test. However, there is also a discussion going on as to who will be Bumrah's vice-captain. Along with Rishabh Pant, the name of Yashasvi Jaiswal is also coming up. For some time now, Jasprit Bumrah has left his mark on the captaincy front. He did not get many opportunities but whenever he led, he showed that he has the ability to lead the team.

The biggest example of this was seen in Perth, where India defeated Australia by 295 runs in the first match of the recent Test series. However, fitness is coming in the way of the decision to make the fast bowler the captain for a long time. Bumrah suffered a serious injury in the fifth Test against Australia, due to which he could not bowl a single over in the second innings and may now be out of the Champions Trophy due to swelling in his back.

These players are strong contenders to become vice-captain

However, if Bumrah remains fit and leads the team on the England tour, he will also need a vice-captain. Bumrah got the responsibility as Rohit's vice-captain. In such a situation, the name of wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant is coming up in the race to support Bumrah, along with him Yashasvi Jaiswal has also joined the race.

Many former cricketers do not consider Jasprit Bumrah as a long-term captaincy option due to the fear of injury. In such a situation, keeping in mind the need to give a chance to a strong candidate on the vice-captaincy front, the responsibility can be given to Rishabh Pant or Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, based on media reports, Pant's claim is stronger.
