Arvind Kejriwal on Awadh Ojha vote: Aam Aadmi Party candidate and well-known motivational speaker Avadh Ojha is finding it difficult to contest the election from Delhi’s Patparganj. The reason behind this is that their votes could not be transferred from Greater Noida to Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has once again said that he will approach the Election Commission in this matter. He has accused of stopping the vote transfer of Aam Aadmi Party candidate Avadh Ojha from Patparganj.

Kejriwal made this allegation

Arvind Kejriwal said that Avadh Ojha had filled Form 8 on January 7, the last date for vote transfer in Delhi, but within 24 hours the CEO of Delhi changed his order and said that the last date for filling the form is January 6. Raising questions, he said that this has been done deliberately to stop Awadh Ojha. Now the question remains whether Awadh Ojha will be able to contest elections from Patpadganj or not. He has said that he will meet the Chief Election Commission today on this issue.

What is the whole matter?

Giving clarification on the entire matter, Arvind Kejriwal said that Awadh Ojha’s vote was registered in Greater Noida. He submitted application form 6 on December 26 to register his vote in Delhi. He did not get any answer. Then he came to know that for vote transfer he would have to fill Form 8 and not Form 6. He filled Form 8 on 7 January. According to the law, the last date for filling the form was January 7. According to the rules of the Election Commission, Form 6, Form 7 and Form 8 can be filled up to 10 days before the last date of nomination. According to this, the last date for submitting the form was January 7. The CEO of Delhi also issued an order in this regard but within 24 hours the order was reversed and it was said that the last date for submitting the form is not 7 but 6 January.

Arvind Kejriwal said that the Election Commission’s manual also says that if the application for vote transfer comes even after the last date, then it can be considered in special cases. The question here is about the candidature of a candidate and whether he can contest from Patparganj or not. In such a situation, we will talk to the Election Commission about transferring the votes of Awadh Ojha so that he can file his candidature.
