Many air routes sold out as Tet holiday nears
Airlines have added 522 flights to their Tet schedules, but tickets to destinations in the central region are sold out and Hanoi and HCMC services are 90% full.
All flights from Jan. 26 to 28, the first three days of the nine-day holiday, are full, Hoang Anh, owner of a ticketing agency in HCMC, said.

Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air and Bamboo Airways have announced an addition of 522 flights with 133,000 seats, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
Flights from HCMC to the central destinations of Thua Thien Hue, Quy Nhon, Thanh Hoa, and Chu Lai, increased from 26 to 37, are fully booked for the beginning of the holiday.
Flights from the southern metro to Hanoi and Da Nang City are 90% full between Jan. 25 and Feb. 2.
The CAAV has instructed airlines to add more flights on high-demand routes, even at night.
Some airlines have announced plans to wet lease aircraft (along with crew).
Vietnam Airlines said it would have three more Airbus A320s and add nearly 400 flights with 75,000 seats during the holidays.
Vietjet and Bamboo Airways also plan to lease aircraft.
