He said that he will continue to play in IPL and domestic cricket. Ashwin also said that he retired at the right time, when people were asking “why?” He said, “I still want to play cricket, but not for the Indian team. It's always better when people ask 'Why?'

Why did Ashwin retire?

Ravichandran Ashwin said on his YouTube channel that he feels his “creativity is gone”. He said that he did not get a chance to play in the first and third Test of the series, whereas he played only in the second Test. There was no possibility of him playing in the fourth test also. In such a situation, he felt that he could no longer expand his creativity, so he decided to retire.

Ravichandran Ashwin has taken 180 wickets in 121 IPL matches at a bowling average of 29.82 and scored 800 runs at a strike rate of 118.51. Which also includes a half century.
