WhiteOak Capital Quality Equity Fund NFO: Floated amid volatility; know what it is

Kolkata: WhiteOak Capital Mutual Fund AMC was launched in June 2017. This AMC has floated a New Fund Offer (NFO) for a proposed fund that has been named as WhiteOak Capital Quality Equity Fund. The management proposes to build this fund around the quality factor theme. The New Fund Offer has opened for investment on January 8 and it will remain open till January 22, 2025.

As announced by the NFO literature, WhiteOak Capital Quality Equity Fund will focus on equity investments. However, it will also invest a part of its resources in debt paper and REITs/InVITs. The management has announced that the scheme will endeavour to deliver long-term capital growth by building a diversified portfolio centered around the quality factor. In ither words, the fund will give investors the opportunity to out their money in the stocks robust fundamentals and those which display stability in the long-term and which can offer relatively predictable returns and will suffer less volatility. The fund manager will be on the lookout for strong and reliable management.

WhiteOak Capital Quality Equity Fund investment plan

As per the AMC management, WhiteOak Capital Quality Equity Fund will invest its resources in the following manner:

  • Equity and related instruments: 80%-100% of funds (These will be in stocks of companies that follow its quality theme)
  • Companies NOT adhering to the quality theme: 0-20% of the funds
  • Debt securities and money market instruments: 0-20%
  • REITs and InVITs: 0-10% of fundsThe AMC has said that it would deploy a proprietary model to detect stocks that will qualify according to its quality factor theme. WhiteOak Capital Quality Equity Fund will use BSE Quality TRI as its benchmark. This scheme will have regular and direct plans, with growth options only.
