The Delhi cricket team has lost a lot of their key players in the past few years. Nitish Rana and Dhruv Shorey are two such players, whose name have come out as significant loss from the team. Take in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 as an example. Dhruv has been shining in Vidarbha, as he hit a century in the second knock-out match. On the other hand, Delhi cricket team could not even go beyond the league level.

Dhruv Shorey played for Vidarbha while the team faced Maharashtra in the second semi-final match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He came in strong and scored 114 runs in 120 balls, including 14 fours and 1 six. He had played an unbeaten innings of 118 runs in the quarter-final match against Rajasthan.

Playing against Maharashtra, Dhruv Shorey stitched up a partnership of 224 runs with Yash Rathore at the Kotambi stadium in Vadodra. Dhruv used to be one of the most senior players in Delhi cricket team. He had single-handedly led the team to a lot of victories, but decided to leave the team before the 2023-24 season. The reason behind such a decision was the lack of opportunity he was getting, which did not keep him happy.

According to reporters, Shorey wanted to play all three formats for the Delhi team, which would have helped him in the Indian Premier League and white-ball cricket, but fate had other plans. He played as a Delhi player for the last time in November 2021, where he played a T20 match. After that, he decided to head towards the Vidarbha cricket. Following Dhruv, Nitish Rana also left Delhi team in 2023.
