However, a follow-up report by The Hollywood Reporter clarified that these claims were unfounded. Senior Academy officials and representatives of the mentioned stars have categorically denied any plans for cancellation. While the celebrations will continue, the academy has acknowledged the challenges posed by the wildfires. Its 55-person Board of Governors, which includes members directly affected by the disaster, is working to ensure that the program reflects sensitivity to the ongoing crisis. In a joint statement, Academy CEO Bill Kramer and President Janet Yang expressed her sadness at the devastating impact of the wildfires:
