WPL 2025 schedule announced, 22 matches between 5 teams in 4 cities, will start from February 14
New Delhi: The schedule of Women's Premier League 2025 (WPL 2025) has been released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). This tournament will start from 14th February and its final match will be held on 15th March. This year the tournament will be organized in four cities and a total of five teams will participate in it. A total of 22 matches will be played in this tournament.
8 matches will be played
The first match of the tournament will be played between defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants in Vadodara. Whereas, the final will be played in Mumbai. This time the matches will be organized in Vadodara, Mumbai, Lucknow and Bengaluru. The first 6 matches of the tournament will be held at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara, after which the matches will be organized in Bengaluru, where a total of 8 matches will be played. After this, there will be 4 matches in Lucknow and the final phase of the tournament will be in Mumbai, where 4 matches including knockout (eliminator and final) will be played.
Maximum 8 matches will be played in Bengaluru
The first match in Bengaluru will be played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore, while in the first match in Lucknow, UP Warriors and Gujarat Giants will face each other. The first match of the last leg in Mumbai will be between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants. Maximum 8 matches will be played in Bengaluru. All matches will be single header, that is, only one match will be played in a day. In the last season WPL 2024, all 22 matches were played in only two cities, which included Bengaluru and Delhi. This time the scope of the tournament has been expanded and four cities have been selected. It is noteworthy that in the first season held in 2023, matches were played only at two venues in Mumbai.
