Durian distributor Kaki Kaki is set to launch its latest vending machine selling durians at an urban rail station in Singapore starting Jan. 20 after installing them at three apartment buildings last year.
The machine, located at Tampines MRT station, offers boxes of 400 grams of durian, priced at SGD38 (US$28), with a half-price discount available until mid-Feb, according to The Straits Times.
The durians are of the Musang King variety, which Kaki Kaki sources directly from Malaysian farmers.
They will be sold at Tampines MRT station.
The durians will be replenished daily and any unsold fruit will be used in cakes.
“The vending machines allow us to streamline operations while ensuring every durian is handled with care, precision and consistency, said Kaki Kaki co-founder C.Y. Wong.
He added that all durians will be transported through a cold-chain process, from farm to table, to maintain the highest quality.
