Railway Minister's shocking claim, installed 76.2 kilometer web girder in just two and a half hours – Video

New Delhi: Indian Railways has achieved a new record in construction work. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has shared a video claiming that a 76.2 meter open web girder was successfully installed in about 2.5 hours in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh. Open web girder is a structure used to connect two ends of a railway track when it passes through a depression in the topography or through water bodies such as rivers.

According to Vaishnav's post, the recently installed track bridge in Katni has been built to raise a new railway track already existing at ground level. Sharing the video on social media platform X, he wrote, “Successful launch of 76.20 meter open web girder over rail at Katni in record 2.5 hours.

Last week, the minister had shared a video of the Vande Bharat Express train for the upcoming Katra-Srinagar rail route, which will connect Jammu with the Kashmir Valley. The 49-second video shared on Vaishnav's X account gave a glimpse of the features of the train, which has been specially designed to operate seamlessly in the challenging winter conditions of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to railway officials, the train will have several additional features compared to other 136 Vande Bharat Express trains currently running in different parts of the country so that it can meet the operational challenges and passenger amenities in the extreme weather conditions of Jammu and Kashmir.
