Azaad: Aaman Devgn, Rasha Thadani starrer witnesses a mundane start

Abhishek Kapoor’s film Azaad, which starred Aaman Devgn and Rasha Thadani was released today. The action-adventure drama opened with a lackluster Rs 1.50 crore net. Considering ticket prices are lowered to Rs 99 in all locations across the country, these figures are not encouraging, nonetheless they are not bad for a new film.

The audience’s reaction to the Aaman-Rasha film was divided. It would have a brighter future if it had been well welcomed by the public. Nevertheless, it still has a chance to end its theatrical run with a respectable sum.

The film also has an extended cameo from Ajay Devgn. The actress Rasha Thadani is the daughter of Anil Thadani and Raveena Tandon, while the debutant Aaman Devgn is the nephew of the 90s star.

Azaad is set in a central Indian province in the 1920s and takes place in British India, where the zamindars are powerful local leaders. When Govind (Aaman Devgn), a lowly horse stable cleaner, wrongly accuses Jaanki Devi (Rasha Thadani), a zamindar’s daughter, of being responsible for a severe beating he suffers for riding a horse that is not his, his life devolves into strife.

On his future voyage, he joins Vikram Thakur (Ajay Devgn), a farmer who has turned rebel and battles against the injustices that the local landlords and the British inflict on the province’s citizens. When Govind discovers what rebellion really means, his original desire for vengeance changes to a pursuit of justice.
