The special thing is that the biggest decline since now was seen in 2008. Whereas the biggest increase was seen in 2012. Auto Expo has been organized 8 times from 2008 to 2023. There have been 5 such occasions when the stock market has seen a decline. There was a decline in Sensex during 3 consecutive Auto Expos from 2016 to 2020. Whereas 2008 and 2010 saw a decline in Auto Expo in consecutive years. On the other hand, there were three years when a rise in Sensex was also seen during the Auto Expo. Last time, a good rise in Sensex was seen in the Auto Expo of 2023. Before that, an increase in Sensex was seen during the Auto Expo of 2012 and 2014.
How much did the Sensex rise and fall in which year?
- In the year 2023, the Auto Expo was held from January 11-18. During these days, a rise of 930.26 points or 1.54 percent was seen in the Sensex.
- In the year 2020, Auto Expo was organized between 7-12 February. During this period, there was a decline of 75.06 points or 0.12 percent in Sensex.
- In the year 2018, Auto Expo was organized between 9-14 February. During this period, there was a decline of 115.79 points i.e. 0.34 percent in Sensex.
- In the year 2016, Auto Expo was organized between 5-9 February. During this period, there was a decline of 317.45 points i.e. 1.30 percent in Sensex.
- In the year 2023, the Auto Expo took place during 6-9 February. During these days, a rise of 122.34 points or 0.60 percent was seen in the Sensex.
- In the year 2023, the Auto Expo was held from 5-11 January. During these days, a rise of 293.22 points or 1.84 percent was seen in the Sensex.
- In the year 2010, Auto Expo was organized between 5-11 January. During this period, there was a decline of 32.02 points i.e. 0.18 percent in Sensex.
- In the year 2008, Auto Expo was organized between 10-17 January. During this period, there was a decline of 1168.96 points i.e. 5.60 percent in Sensex.
The decline has started in 2025
If we talk about the Auto Expo of the year 2025, then one has already happened and the stock market has also got off to a bad start. On Friday, the Sensex fell by 423.49 points or 0.55 percent to 76,619.33 points. The special thing is that even after the Auto Expo, there was a decline of 142.05 points in the auto sector of BSE sectoral index and closed at 51,498.65. If we talk about shares of auto companies, a rise of less than one percent was seen in TVS Motors, Tata Motors, Hero Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Auto.
If we talk about declining shares, then a decline of 0.55 percent was seen in the shares of Ola Electric. Hyundai shares closed at Rs 1793.35 with a fall of 1.35 percent. Mahindra & Mahindra shares have seen a decline of 2.12 percent. Shares of Eicher Motors and Ashok Leyland closed with a decline of 0.65 percent.
