Happy Birthday Vinod Kambli: Vinod Kambli, considered one of the brightest stars of the Indian cricket team, turns 53 today. Kambli, once recognized as an extraordinary talent, has lost all her glamor in recent times. Born on January 18, 1972 in Mumbai, Kambli was recently honored by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) at the inauguration ceremony of the 50th anniversary of the iconic Wankhede Stadium. Today, on the occasion of his birthday, we will talk about one such record of his, in which he outweighs even his friend Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar.

Kambli made his Test cricket debut in January 1993 against England. He caught everyone's attention with his explosive performance at the beginning of his career. This player had scored two double centuries in his first four Test matches. Not only this, he also scored two centuries in the next two test matches. However, he could not progress the way he started his career.

Sachin also faces heavy burden in this matter

Kambli played only 17 tests for Team India and in this he scored 1084 runs at an average of 54.20. During this period, he also managed to score four centuries and three half-centuries. He became the fastest Indian to complete one thousand runs and he played only 14 innings to score so many runs. This is a record which no Indian batsman including Sachin has been able to break till date. Yashasvi Jaiswal came closest to breaking this record, but he also took 16 innings to score 1000 runs.

Career ruined due to alcohol

Kambli, who scored a double century and two centuries at the age of just 21, was a bit spoiled and also had a relationship with alcohol. Because of his nature and hobbies, his cricket career could not last long. In ODI, this batsman scored 2477 runs in 104 matches, where his average was 32.59. This included two centuries and 14 half-centuries. He last played an ODI match for India in the year 2000.
