Cricket News Desk. BCCI is continuously taking strict steps to improve the performance of the team. First of all he held a review meeting with the team's head coach Gautam Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma. After this, 10 guidelines were issued to increase unity and discipline in the team. The board has asked to strictly comply with it. One of these rules concerns the families of the players. Taking a strict stance, the BCCI has set a limit on players traveling with their families on foreign tours. Let us find out who in the Indian team travels the most with their families and who will be hurt the most by this rule?
These players travel with their families.
Indian team players have already traveled abroad with their families. But earlier this used to happen very rarely. It is believed that after Virat Kohli became the captain, his popularity in the team increased significantly. He supports traveling with children and wife. This is why his wife Anushka Sharma accompanies him on almost every foreign trip.
After Virat, the current captain of the team Rohit Sharma is also supporting it. He often likes to travel with his family. Rohit has said in many of his interviews that his wife and daughter live with him, so he feels quite relaxed during big series. His wife Ritika Sajdeh has been seen supporting him in the stands during several series. But now both the players will get little or no support from their families on foreign trips.
Gill, Rahul and Bumrah are also included in this list.
Jasprit Bumrah also often travels with his family. However, his wife works as a presenter at ICC events and that is why she is seen with Bumrah during big tournaments. This means that it will not make any difference to them. KL Rahul's wife Athiya Shetty also travels with him. They may also have to suffer losses due to BCCI rules.
Apart from the senior players, the young player of the team, Shubman Gill is taking his family with him the most. His sister, parents or all three accompany him on foreign trips. Shubman's sister Shahneel also accompanied him on the Zimbabwe tour. Arshdeep Singh's parents have also traveled with him many times. He was with them during the T20 World Cup.
What are the rules regarding family?
According to BCCI rules, if the Indian team goes on a foreign tour for 45 days or more, the wife, partner or family of any player cannot stay with him for more than 14 days during that tour. If a player's family stays with him for a long time then the board will not bear his expenses. Not only this, permission will be given only once for these 14 days and during this period the board will also bear the expenses of their accommodation.
