Auto Expo 2025: BMW Motorrad has launched the latest version of its performance-oriented bike, the S 1000 RR, in India. Its starting price has been kept at Rs 21.10 lakh (ex-showroom). This bike will be sold as a completely built-up unit. The company has also announced that bookings for this superbike are now open, and its deliveries will start from April 2025.
The design of the new S 1000 RR is more compact than before and it has a twin-headlamp setup. A high windscreen, side winglets and lower triple clamp are parted to improve its aerodynamics. With the help of winglets, the downforce of the bike is increased by 23.1 kg, which provides more stability at high speeds. The bike will be available in three colors – Black Storm Metallic, Bluestone Metallic (with Style sport), and Light White Solid/M Motorsport (with M package).
The BMW S 1000 RR is powered by a 999cc inline-four cylinder engine, which produces 210 hp of power at 13,750 rpm and 113 Nm of peak torque. This power unit is paired with a six-speed gearbox, which includes a bi-directional quick-shifter. To control the power, the bike has been provided with traction control system, launch control, hill start control, pit lane timer and many other rider assistance features. The bike also has four ride modes – Rain, Road, Dynamic, and Race. This bike can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and its top speed can exceed 300 km/h.
