PM Modi distributed 65 lakh ownership property cards, UN discussed property rights to eradicate poverty, gave 2 crore documents

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed 65 lakh owned property cards in 10 states and 2 Union Territories. Addressing the occasion virtually, PM Modi said that this day is important for villages and the economy. He told that this scheme was started 5 years ago, so that the villagers could get legal proof of their house.

There has been a problem of property rights

The Prime Minister said that there has been a problem of property rights in the 21st century. In a study conducted by the United Nations, it was revealed that in many countries people do not have permanent documents of their property. The United Nations had also said that to reduce poverty it is necessary to give property rights to the people. Under this scheme, so far about 2.25 crore villagers have been provided with the legal documents of their houses. Earlier, despite having property worth lakhs of crores, people did not have legal proof, due to which their property had no value. Now, the way has opened for economic activities worth more than Rs 100 lakh crore. Prime Minister Modi participated in the event virtually, while Union ministers and representatives of state governments attended it.

Main points of Modi's speech

1. Earlier there used to be property disputes in the villages and powerful people used to capture them. Banks also refused to give loans without legal documents. When the government was formed in 2014, it was decided that this problem would be solved. 2. Through drone technology, mapping of properties in villages across the country was done and distribution of legal documents started. 3. Dalit, backward and tribal families have benefited the most from this scheme, who had faced occupations and legal disputes for a long time. 4. Economic activities worth Rs 100 lakh crore have now become possible through this initiative. With this, the identification of land has also become clear and 23 crore Bhu-Aadhaar numbers have been issued. 5. 98 percent land records have been digitized.
