IT major Wipro plans to hire 12,000 freshers in FY26
New Delhi New Delhi: IT software major Wipro plans to hire 12,000 freshers in the next financial year (FY26), while it aims to hire around 10,000 freshers this fiscal (FY25).The company According to Saurabh Govil, Chief Human Resources Officer, about 7,000 freshers have already been inducted in the October-December (Q3) quarter and Another 2,500-3,000 people are expected to join in Q4 FY25.
Govil stressed on a cautious but consistent recruitment approach, as the IT company is reevaluating its recruitment model to improve employee utilization and increase margins amid falling rates. In its Q3 FY25 results, Wipro reported 232,732 employees (net reduction of 1,157) as of December 31, 2024, with a net utilization of 83.5 per cent.
This major company in the IT software sector has registered a sequential increase of 4.5 percent in consolidated net profit at Rs 3,354 crore in the October-December quarter of the current financial year as compared to the previous quarter. The company has declared an interim dividend of Rs 6 per share. For the quarter ending March 31, 2025, the Company expects revenues from our IT Services business segment to be in the range of $2,602 million to $2,655 million. According to Wipro CEO and Managing Director Srini Palliya, in a seasonally weak quarter, “our strong execution in the quarter helped us exceed the top end of our revenue guidance”. Chief Financial Officer Aparna Iyer said the company grew margins for the fourth consecutive quarter, “enabling us to achieve our previously stated margin target of 17.5 per cent.” “We are pleased to share that the Board has approved our revised capital allocation policy, which increases the committed payout percentage to 70 per cent or more in a 3-year block.
