PM Modi distributed 65 lakh ownership property cards, said- lakhs of people took loans after getting the rights
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed about 65 lakh ownership property cards under the ownership scheme. The Prime Minister also interacted with some beneficiaries through video conference. He said that this scheme will help people in getting loans and benefits of government schemes.
These property cards are being distributed to beneficiaries of more than 50,000 villages in 10 states – Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and two union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. .
During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that after 65 lakh cards were distributed today, now about 2.24 crore beneficiaries in the villages will have ownership property cards. This will boost economic activities and help in poverty alleviation.
The PM said that “Property rights are a big challenge across the world. Many years ago the United Nations conducted a study which revealed that people in many countries do not have legal documents for property rights. The United Nations has said that property rights are important for poverty alleviation.”
Property in villages is a dead capital
Prime Minister Modi said that an eminent economist had said that property in villages is a 'dead capital' as people cannot do anything with it and it cannot help in increasing their income.
The impact of this challenge was seen in India also. People in villages have property worth lakhs of crores, but they do not have its documents. This led to fights, property was grabbed, and even banks did not give loans on such property.
Lakhs of people took loans after getting rights
PM Modi said that previous governments should have taken some steps in this regard, but nothing special was done. Dalits, backward classes and tribals have been most affected by this law. He said that lakhs of people have taken loans after getting legal property rights. He has used this money to start his business. Many of these are farmers, for whom these property cards are a guarantee of financial security.
