Delhi Schools Reopening News: DoE orders resumption of normal classes from tomorrow
New Delhi: The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi has issued an important notice regarding the resumption of physical classes in schools. It has directed all the Delhi schools to resume normal classes from Monday (January 20). The decision was taken after the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas revoked actions under Stage-III (‘Severe’ Air Quality) of the extant Schedule of GRAP, with immediate effect.
The Directorate has also asked all the heads of schools to disseminate the information among students, staff members and parents of the students. The Delhi schools reopening order will apply to all government, government-aided, and recognized private schools of DoE.
The official notice reads, “All the Govt, Govt Aided, Unaided Recognized Private Schools of DoE, NDMC, MCD and Delhi Cantonment Board are informed that the guidelines issued vide circular of even number dated 16.01.25 are hereby revoked with immediate effect. Thus, all classes in all schools are to be held in physical mode with immediate effect.”
Earlier, the Delhi government had announced a total of 15 days of winter vacations for Delhi schools in 2025. All schools in the capital city were closed from January 1 to 15, 2025. The DoE had issued a directive that all Delhi schools should opt for hybrid mode classes (except for classes 10 and 12) due to rising pollution levels in Delhi NCR.
The CBSE has released the date sheet for classes 10 and 12. The CBSE Class 10 board exams 2025 will be held from February 15 to March 18. The CBSE Class 12 exams will be conducted from February 15 to April 4, 2025.
