If UAN is linked to Aadhaar then the work will be even easier.

Under this, if an employee's Universal Account Number (UAN) is linked to the same member ID and it is linked to Aadhaar, then they will not have to apply to any company to transfer their PF account. Similarly, if the employee has more than one UAN and all these UANs are linked to Aadhaar, he can also transfer his account manually.

This facility will be available to those employees whose UAN has been issued on or after October 01, 2017. If the UAN is issued before October 01, 2017, the UAN will need to be linked to Aadhaar and the personal information (like name, date of birth) matches for PF transfer.

Employees will be able to apply themselves for account transfer

The most important thing in this process is that the employee will no longer need to apply for his PF account transfer either from the old company or from the new company. Instead, employees will be able to make their transfer by applying manually on the EPFO website, provided the information related to UAN and Aadhaar is correct.

What do you understand by UAN?

Let us tell you that UAN (Universal Account Number) is a special 12 digit number, which is given to the employees by EPFO. This number acts like an identity card for the EPF account.
