Anti-congestion road for HCMC airport nears opening day
As of Saturday, aerial views showed the road segment stretching from the intersection with Phan Thuc Duyen Street to Hoang Hoa Tham Street in Tan Binh District, curving alongside Tan Son Nhat International Airport. The project, combined with the expansion of Hoang Hoa Tham Street, will enter its first phase on Tuesday, easing travel during the Lunar New Year holiday, which peaks on Jan. 19.
The connector road project, with a total investment of over VND4.8 trillion (US$189.5 million), spans approximately 4 km and includes branch roads, an elevated bridge, and an underpass. It begins at the Tran Quoc Hoan – Phan Thuc Duyen intersection and ends at the junction of C12, Cong Hoa, and Truong Chinh streets. The project aims to alleviate traffic congestion around the airport gateway and provide direct access to Tan Son Nhat’s upcoming domestic Terminal 3.
