Khel Ratna winner Manu Bhaker’s uncle and grandmother die in road accident

Just two days after being honored with the prestigious Khel Ratna Award by the President of India, Manu’s maternal uncle, and grandmother lost their lives in a fatal crash on the Mahendergarh Bypass Road, as per PTI.

The victims, Yudhveer Singh (Manu’s uncle) and Savitri Devi (her grandmother), were traveling on a scooter when a speeding Brezza car, coming from the wrong side of the road, struck them.

The impact was so severe that both were thrown to the ground and died instantly. Yudhveer Singh, a driver with the state roadways, was on his way to work when the accident occurred.His mother, Savitri Devi, had accompanied him to visit her younger son in Loharu Chowk.

Reports say the Brezza, speeding and coming from the opposite side, lost control and collided with the scooter, causing a fatal crash.

The vehicle overturned after the collision. The driver of the car, however, fled the scene immediately, leaving the victims behind.

Local police quickly arrived at the site, recovered the bodies, and sent them to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem. A manhunt has been launched to capture the hit-and-run driver.

The young athlete, who had just been recognized for her outstanding achievements, is now facing an unimaginable loss at this difficult time.

Manu Bhaker, who made history as the first Indian female shooter to win an Olympic medal, was recently awarded the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award for her incredible achievements in sports.

The police investigation into the accident is ongoing, with efforts focused on locating the driver responsible for the fatal crash.
