New T20 league for women is going to start soon, so many teams will participate
Cricket News Desk. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is going to organize the Women's Bangladesh Premier League (WBPL) for the first time, which is likely to start on February 7, soon after the conclusion of the men's BPL. According to BCB director Nazmul Abedin Faheem, it will be a three-team competition, with each team playing six league matches and playing against each other twice. After this the final match will be played. Faheem said that BCB is considering taking various steps for the development of women's cricket. He said that we are thinking of different ways to promote women's cricket, and are considering whether we can organize a T-20 competition for women. Now we have decided that we will start BPL for women. Will organize.
The same number of players will be included in the teams.
Additionally, Faheem also revealed that BCB is in talks with some men's BPL franchises regarding women's teams and some owners have shown interest in the same. Faheem said that we have already talked to some BPL franchises who have shown interest in owning women's teams. We want to see what impact the women's tournament has on our T20 cricket. We hope this will help the progress of women's cricket.
Another special thing about this tournament is that each team will include only one foreign player and each team will have a maximum of 15 players. Faheem said that due to financial reasons they do not want to include more foreign players. He said that having four foreign players puts financial pressure on the teams and we do not want them to face this pressure. We want to give more opportunities to our local cricketers and increase competitiveness.
