'Everyone is speaking to me, friend', Rohit and Agarkar's chat before the press conference goes viral

The Indian cricket team on Saturday (January 18) announced its 15-member squad for the Champions Trophy 2025 and the ODI series against England. For the Champions Trophy, Rohit Sharma has been made the captain and young Shubman Gill has been made the vice-captain of the team. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma held a press conference and announced the team for the Champions Trophy.

However, before the start of this press conference, the private conversation between Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar was also leaked. 37-year-old Rohit Sharma was talking to Agarkar about the new guidelines issued by BCCI before the start of the press conference, but during this conversation, Rohit's mic was on and perhaps he did not know that his conversation was being shared on social media. Will go viral.

The involvement of families with players on the tour has come under scrutiny following India's 1-3 defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. So BCCI has issued a guideline and as per the new rules, if a tournament is 45 days or more long, the families will be allowed to stay with the players only for 14 days. In case of short tours, the period of stay will be limited to one week only.

In the viral video, Rohit tells Agarkar, “I will have to sit for one and a half hours. Everyone is talking about me.”

Meanwhile, Rohit has confirmed his participation in the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match against Mumbai from January 23. He would like to regain his lost form by playing against Jammu and Kashmir before the series against England. Rohit could not live up to the expectations in the Test matches on Australian soil and was able to reach double digits only once. He had also withdrawn his name from the New Year Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
