Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea eye 16-year-old star Diouf, Fenerbahce joins race

Fenerbahce has entered the race to sign Amara Diouf, a 16-year-old Senegalese winger who has drawn the attention of Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Chelsea, according to African media reports.

Africafoot reported on Friday that Fenerbahce has offered €1.5 million ($1.54 million) to Diouf’s family for the transfer. The family has not responded to the request yet; the report says.

The young talent currently plays for Senegal’s Generation Foot club.

16-year-old star is going through tough times

Diouf, who captured attention as the winner of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations, stands 1.75 meters (5’9”) tall. After his impressive debut, he is currently going through tough times as he lost his father in December and suffered a cruciate ligament injury.

According to Transfer markethe managed to appear in only two matches this season, without contributing goals or assists.

FIFA regulations restrict the transfer of minors across continents unless the player’s family relocates. Following the U17 World Cup in 2023, several clubs expressed interest in Diouf, reportedly including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Chelsea, but Generation Foot has reportedly declined any transfers before the player turns 18.
