New Delhi: The Under 19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025 has started and India has registered its first win. The Indian team captained by Nikki Prasad defeated West Indies by 9 wickets. Joshita VJ, Ayushi Shukla and Sanika Chalke performed well in this match. Apart from this, G Kamalini and Parunika Sisodia also played important roles. The West Indies team came out to bat first, but the Indian bowlers performed brilliantly and bowled out the West Indies for only 44 runs. Captain Samara Ramnath was out for just 3 runs, while opener Asabi Kalender returned to the pavilion after scoring 12 runs. Kenika Kaiser scored 15 runs.

In India's bowling, Ayushi Shukla took 2 wickets for only 6 runs in 4 overs and also bowled a maiden over. Sisodia took 3 wickets for 7 runs in 2.2 overs, while Joshita took 2 wickets for 5 runs in 2.2 overs.

Team India won the match in only 4.2 overs. Trisha and G Kamalini opened for India. Trisha was out after scoring 4 runs, while Kamalini scored 16 not out, which included 3 fours. Sanika scored unbeaten 18 runs on 11 balls, which included 3 fours. India's next match will be against Malaysia on 21 January.
