Even 20 kissing scenes and 30 lip locks could not save the film, it flopped badly at the box office!
Bollywood news.Kissing was quite common in Bollywood in the first half of the 20th century; kissing scenes between lead actors were shown in many films. However, after the independence of the country, this trend started decreasing. For nearly three decades, on-screen kissing was rare, appearing only occasionally. In the early 2000s, films like Murder, Jism started this trend again. Then a film came which broke all boundaries.
There were 20 kissing scenes between Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat.
3G, released in 2013, was a horror thriller directed by Top Anand and Shantanu Ray Chibber. The film, starring Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sonal Chauhan in the lead roles, is often described as an erotic thriller. Although 3G was not a big hit, it attracted a lot of attention due to its 30 on-screen kisses. It is said that this film left behind the record set by Murder, in which there were 20 kisses between Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat.
The general public criticized this film a lot
The buzz around 3G ultimately did nothing to save it as the film was panned by critics and the general public. With a rating as low as 12% on Rotten Tomatoes, it is considered one of the worst Indian films of all time. Its IMDb score is also similarly disappointing at just 3.6.
25 kissing scenes in Vaani Kapoor starrer Befikre
This film also flopped badly at the box office. It earned only Rs 5.9 crore and could not recover its production budget. Since its release, many films were close to competing with 3G, but none could surpass it. The same year, Shuddh Desi Romance starring Parineeti Chopra and Sushant Singh Rajput created a stir with 27 kisses, while Befikre starring Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor had 25 kisses.
