Sports Desk: After seeing the poor performance of the Indian cricket team, BCCI had issued '10 point guidelines' for the players of the team. Which the players have started following. BCCI has informed the Cricket Association of Bengal that no player will be provided a separate vehicle to reach the stadium for practice. All the players and supporting members of the team will reach the stadium from the hotel in the same bus and this also happened.
The Indian team is in Kolkata for the opening match of the T20 series against England at the Eden Gardens on January 22. After the embarrassing defeat in the Test series against New Zealand at home and the tour of Australia, BCCI has issued 10-point guidelines. According to these guidelines, 'All players will have to stay for the entire duration of the scheduled practice session and travel together to the venue. This rule will bring unity in the team.
India's ODI and Test captain Rohit Sharma has already expressed his objection to some provisions of this guideline. However, it is understood that BCCI has already implemented one of these 10 guidelines. The new guidelines were shared with all state cricket boards hosting India-England matches, including the Bengal Cricket Association.
CAB President Snehasish Ganguly confirmed the new arrangement and expressed the association's commitment to follow the policies. “Keeping in mind the BCCI's 10-point guidelines for players, the Bengal Cricket Association has not specifically arranged for any separate mode of transportation,” Snehasish told PTI. Only one team bus has been arranged for the Indian team. There will be no personal vehicles for cricketers. We have to follow the guidelines, which clearly state that all players are expected to travel with the team for practice sessions and matches.”
