New Delhi:- There is a big good news for the members of the Employees Provident Fund Organization. Now EPFO members will be able to easily make corrections in their personal information like name and other details. This announcement was made by the Union Minister on Saturday.
The government has implemented many reforms in EPFO, through which members will now be able to make changes in their personal information themselves by visiting the digital platform of EPFO. Earlier, whenever a member had to make changes in his/her information, he/she had to go through a lengthy process.
Union Labor and Employment Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya said, “EPFO has more than 10 crore beneficiaries. Earlier, whenever a member wanted to make any change, they had to go through a lengthy process. But now, reforms have been implemented in EPFO. After this, members will now be able to easily make changes to their information without any external assistance.
Mandaviya further said, “EPFO has received about 8 lakh complaints related to change in name and other information. With this change, all these complaints will be resolved soon. Apart from this, the Union Minister also informed that the government has implemented reforms to make EPFO account transfer easier. Now, members will be able to easily transfer their EPFO account from one organization to another through OTP. Earlier this process was quite lengthy.
Earlier this month, EPFO had announced that it has completed the rollout of the Centralized Pension Payments System in all its regional offices across the country. More than 68 lakh pensioners will benefit from this. With this new system, beneficiaries will get the facility to withdraw pension from any bank. Moreover, the beneficiary will no longer need to visit the bank for verification at the time of commencement of pension. This step will be a relief for those pensioners who go to their hometown after retirement and spend their lives there.
