Side effects of eating Bathua: Bathua is very beneficial for health. Many nutrients are found in it. In winter, it is mostly consumed in the form of dal, saag and raita or paratha. According to Ayurveda, Bathua is not beneficial for everyone.

Some people may have many side effects. If there are problems related to kidney, thyroid or digestion in the body, then one should avoid consuming Bathua. Not only this, if there are problems related to digestion or any kind of allergy, then Bathua should not be consumed.

Bathua contains high amount of oxalate which can increase problems in case of kidney stones or kidney related problems. Therefore, if you have kidney related problems, you should avoid consuming Bathua. Because oxalate promotes the formation of stones in the kidneys.

Not only this, one should avoid consuming Bathu during pregnancy. Excessive consumption of Bathua during pregnancy can stimulate the uterus, which can lead to the risk of miscarriage or premature delivery.

Also, in case of thyroid problem, consuming Bathua can increase the problem. Bathua contains goitrogenic elements, which can interfere with the functioning of the thyroid gland. This can increase problems for thyroid patients. Therefore, thyroid patients should avoid consuming Bathua.
