Ashwin had fun on the journalist's question, 'Now is my time to be a child'.

Former Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin had retired from international cricket in the middle of the recently concluded Australian tour. Now after retirement, he seems quite active on social media. During this time, he was also seen talking to journalist Vimal Kumar on cricket issues, but Ashwin also enjoyed this journalist thoroughly.

Currently, a clip is going viral on social media in which a journalist asks Ashwin whether he would like to become the selector of the Indian cricket team in future?

In response to this question, Ashwin says that this is his time to have fun and not to get headache by becoming a selector. Ashwin says in reply, you do one thing, whatever role you want to see me in, write it as a meme on my head. I haven't decided yet what to do next. Whatever I am doing right now is fine, now is my time to fuck.

Apart from this, Ashwin also expressed his opinion on appointing Shubman Gill as the vice-captain of the ODI team before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Praising the future step of the selectors, he said that they have taken this decision keeping the future in mind. Ashwin said, “Just think who we can appoint as vice-captain from the current team. I will not say whether the decision to appoint Gill was right or wrong, but the point raised was that he was the vice-captain in the previous series as well. I could be wrong, but I think he has done some vice-captaincy in Test matches as well. I think this decision has been taken keeping the future in mind because the management will be thinking about who can be their captain in the future.”

Ashwin further said, “If Shubman becomes the captain in future then he can depend on Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah for guidance.”
