Jio gave a surprise to its users, the price of this popular plan increased by Rs 100.
For families, Jio's most affordable family plan is priced at Rs 449 per month.
Jio Price Hike News: Jio has announced an increase of Rs 100 in the price of its plan from January 23. The hike comes after the country's largest telecom company revised its mobile tariffs in July last year, when it opted to increase the prices of all plans and discontinue several plans. Now the company is making its basic Rs 199 postpaid plan more expensive.
According to a report by BT, specifically, the user will have to pay Rs 299 for this plan starting from January 23. The monthly plan offers unlimited calling and 25GB high-speed data to call any number across India. Additionally, subscribers enjoy 100 free SMS daily and free national roaming. With the price increase, users will have to spend an additional Rs 100 to avail these benefits.
For new postpaid customers, Jio's lowest plan starts at Rs 349. This option includes unlimited calling, 30GB high-speed data, and unlimited 5G access across India. Similarly, it also offers 100 free SMS every day and covers national roaming.
For families, Jio's most affordable family plan is priced at Rs 449 per month. This plan includes 75GB high-speed data, unlimited calling and 5G services. Users can add three additional numbers to this plan, but each additional number attracts a monthly fee of Rs 150. Also, all secondary numbers are given 5GB additional data every month.
In other news, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a new system to help protect mobile users from financial scams disguised as calls from banks. They have set up two special phone number ranges that banks must use to call their customers about transactions and promotions. Now, if you get a call regarding a bank transaction or any financial issue, it should only come from a number starting with 1600. The change aims to make it easier for people to identify and avoid fraudulent calls, where fraudsters pretend to be calling from a bank.
