A hearing was held in the Supreme Court on Monday 20 January regarding the custody of children in the Atul Subhash suicide case, which was famous across the country. It is noteworthy that Atul Subhash had committed suicide accusing his wife and in-laws of harassing him. Now his mother Anju Devi had filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking custody of Atul's son. Atul Subhash's 4-year-old son joined the hearing through video conferencing.

The Supreme Court does not hear such cases directly. Justice B.V. Nagarathna and Justice S.C. Sharma gave this decision in response to the petition of Atul Subhash's mother Anju Devi after talking to the child through video link. Actually Nikita Singhania had told the court that the child is in a boarding school in Faridabad and he will be taken to Bengaluru along with his mother.

Atul's son joined the Bengaluru hearing today through video conferencing. During this time, on the request of the lawyers of Atul's wife Nikita Singhania, the live streaming of the hearing was stopped and all unnecessary people were also thrown out of the court. Justices BV Nagarathna and Satish Chandra Sharma talked to the child for some time. Apart from Nikita, he also talked to Atul Subhash's brother.

Therefore, the Supreme Court held a hearing. Earlier the mother of the child was in custody, now the situation has changed. The child's mother is out of custody. The child is with him. In such a situation, if the grandmother wants the custody of the child, then she should approach the appropriate legal forum. The Supreme Court cannot hear it.
