Captains of 7 teams announced before IPL 2025, these 3 teams including RCB extended the wait
Delhi: There is still about two months left for the start of the 18th season of IPL 2025, but till now 7 out of 10 teams have announced their captains. The captains of three teams are still yet to be announced. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) became the seventh team, which has declared Rishabh Pant as the captain for IPL 2025. Pant has previously been the captain of Delhi Capitals and is also the most expensive selling player of IPL.
Captain of Punjab Kings and other teams
Before Lucknow, Punjab Kings (PBKS) had announced their captaincy. PBKS appointed Shreyas Iyer as captain, who was the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) last season and also led the team to the IPL trophy. At the same time, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad have retained their old captains. These include Hardik Pandya of Mumbai, Ruturaj Gaikwad of Chennai, Shubman Gill of Gujarat, Sanju Samson of Rajasthan and Pat Cummins of Hyderabad.

Announcement of captains of other teams
There are still three teams whose captain's name has not been decided. These teams include Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). RCB does not seem to have any big face apart from Virat Kohli, whereas KKR does not have a previous captain. In Delhi too, KL Rahul's name is coming up for captaincy, but dual captaincy is also being considered there.
