Not Ambani, but Adani family to bring Taylor Swift to India? Here’s what we know

New Delhi: Swifties in India, it’s time to hold your breath! The global pop sensation might finally perform in the country, and the stage could be as grand as it gets. And this time, it is not the Ambani family who will invite the global pop star to the Indian shores.

Known for her chart-topping anthems like Blank Space, Red and Cruel Summer, the 35-year-old singer-songwriter has a knack for creating unforgettable live experiences. While an official announcement is yet to drop, rumours are rife that Taylor Swift might perform at an Adani wedding.

Taylor Swift in India

According to a report by News18, the singer has been approached to perform at one of the pre-wedding festivities of Jeet Adani, son of billionaire Gautam Adani, and Diva Shah.

“Yes, this is true. Taylor Swift’s team is in talks with the Adanis to perform at one of the pre-wedding festivities. While Taylor has not confirmed her presence yet, discussions are ongoing. If it works out, this would mark her first-ever performance in India,” an insider revealed to the news portal.

Jeet Adani and Diva Shah

Jeet Adani and Diva Shah got engaged in March 2023 in a low-key ceremony in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The couple is expected to tie the knot later this year. With Taylor Swift potentially gracing the occasion, the wedding could become one of the most talked-about events of the year.

Taylor Swift’s Indian connection

Although Taylor has never performed in India, she is well aware of her massive fan base in the country. Back in 2014, while promoting her album 1989, she acknowledged her Indian fans, describing them as “enthusiastic and passionate.”

She even expressed interest in Bollywood, saying, “Indian cinema has a lot of music and dance, which excites me. I think Indians share a big passion for song and dance in movies, which I love. It’s a great way of connecting with the audience.”

The Love Story crooner’s recently concluded Eras Tour didn’t include India on its Asia schedule, covering only Singapore and Japan. This left her Indian fans longing for a live performance. If the talks materialise, Taylor’s potential performance at the Adani wedding could be the moment her Indian fans have been waiting for.
