Union Minister of Energy, Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, on Monday, the second day of his stay in Prayagraj Mahakumbh, inspected the Command and Control Center established in the office of Prayagraj Municipal Corporation and through this, the solid waste of Mahakumbh Mela area and Prayagraj city. Saw the arrangements of the management program and also took stock of the monitoring of the cleanliness program through AI technology.
He honored the sanitation workers by garlanding them and gifting them body clothes and encouraged their work. On this occasion, the Union Minister said that sanitation workers are the foundation stone in making any city clean and beautiful. Today the whole world is able to see the divine, grand and clean Maha Kumbh, so the maximum credit for this goes to the sanitation workers who are the carriers of cleanliness. He said that these are not sweepers, but cleanliness fighters.
Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday honored the sanitation workers in Prayagraj Municipal Corporation by garlanding them and covering them with shawls. During this, kits and track suits were also distributed to the sanitation workers. Along with this, he visited the Smart City Building along with State Urban Development Minister AK Sharma and Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani.
Union Minister Khattar, Urban Development Minister AK Sharma and Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani along with the councilors of the Municipal Corporation saw the newly constructed Solid Waste Management Control Room of the Municipal Corporation. During this, Municipal Commissioner Chandra Mohan Garg informed him about the functioning of the control room, the cleanliness system of the city, monitoring and garbage disposal along with the operated MRF, ARF, Bio CNG and C&D plants. The Municipal Commissioner said that the corporation is also getting a revenue of Rs 40 lakh annually through the plant. CNG will be made by disposing of the wet waste. Its distribution will be through AOL and pipes to homes. Sanitation monitoring with AI is no less than an achievement
Seeing the AI monitoring of the city and prompt resolution of problems, Union Minister Shri Khattar appreciated the work of the Municipal Corporation and congratulated it for keeping the city clean. He said that covering 70 kilometers of main roads every day and making them clean is praiseworthy. Encroachments in the city, garbage lying on the roadside, bad street lights, stray animals are being monitored through Artificial Intelligence. This is an achievement in itself.
After this, the Union Minister reached the Central Service Cell and took information about the work going on there. During this, Urban Development Minister AK Sharma and Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani presented a memento of Mahakumbh-2025 to the Union Minister. Additional Municipal Commissioner Deependra Yadav, Additional Municipal Commissioner Arvind Kumar Rai, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Ms. Deepshikha Pandey and other officers were present during the program.
