Shadow of launch of electric vehicles at Bharat Mobility Global Expo-2025

NEW DELHINew Delhi: The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 was abuzz with launches of electric vehicles (EVs), from the Maruti Suzuki Evitara to the scissor-door MG Cyberster as well as the first India-made BMW X1. Over 90 launches were witnessed in the first two days at the Bharat Mandapam and 56 new products from 22 different brands were launched on the second day alone. A number of advanced vehicles, ranging from super bikes, cars, buses and even ambulances, state-of-the-art mobility solutions and latest components were displayed. At the launch of the programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed hope that India's electric vehicle (EV) sales are expected to grow eight times by the end of this decade, creating opportunities for global and domestic manufacturers in the country's mobility sector. Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal had stressed the importance of encouraging first-time vehicle buyers in India to choose electric vehicles (EVs) over fossil fuel-based cars. The minister said this change can have a transformative impact on the country's mobility ecosystem, benefiting both the environment and the economy. The other day at the Bharat Mandapam, Vinfast Auto India announced the launch of its first two electric vehicles for the Indian market, all-electric premium SUVs, the VF7 and VF6.

JSW MG Motor India showcases 9 innovative models while launching MG Magister. Products displayed include hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), battery electric vehicles (BEV) and internal combustion engines (ICE). Eka Mobility showcased the largest ever range of electric commercial vehicles in India, comprising over 11 different platforms spanning electric buses, trucks and small commercial vehicles (SCVs). BYD India launches BYD SEALION 7 pure performance eSUV at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Additionally, BYD India also showcased BYD SEALION 6, BYD Super Plug-in Hybrid EV with DM-i technology and the luxurious Yangwang U8. Additionally, JBM Electric Vehicles launched 4 brand new electric buses, ranging from luxury coaches and medical mobile units to electric tarmac coaches.

Hyundai Motor Company launched 2 concept models of advance electric three-wheeler and micro four-wheeler the other day. It is noteworthy that India's first solar electric car 'Eva' was launched today by Wayway Mobility at a starting price of Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The solar electric car will be available in three different options: 9 kilowatt-hours (Whr), 12 kWhr and 18 k Whr, with prices ranging between Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom). SML Isuzu launched HeroE.EV, while introduced 4 other products including AASAI MX, Premium HeroE Bus, ATS-125 Multi Stretcher Ambulance and Samrat XT Plus Tipper. India Mobility Global Expo 2025, a landmark event uniting the entire Indian automotive and mobility ecosystem, will be held from 17 to 22 January at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Yashobhoomi in Dwarka and India Expo Mart in Greater Noida.
