Kumbh Mela is a major religious and cultural event of India, in which lakhs of devotees gather every year for bathing and worship. This fair organized in Prayagraj is as sacred as it is crowded. If you are planning to visit the Kumbh Mela with your small children, ensuring their safety should be your priority.
Children are naturally curious and mischievous. They may get nervous easily in crowded places or get separated from their family. In such a situation, parents need to be extra careful. Here we are giving you some important tips for the safety of children during Kumbh Mela.
Tips for safety of children during Kumbh Mela
1. Place identification mark
Write the child’s name, parents’ names and contact numbers on the child’s clothes. For this, wear an identification tag or band around the neck. This step will be extremely helpful in case the child is lost.
2. Do not leave the child alone
Do not let the child go alone in a crowded fair. Always hold his hand. If possible, carry small children in your lap. Avoid taking the child to crowded places.
3. Designate an emergency location for the family
Before going to the fair, decide on an emergency location for all the family members, where everyone can gather if needed. Make the child remember this place and practice identifying it.
4. Wear colorful and bright clothes
Dress your child in bright and colorful clothes, so that he can be easily seen in the crowd. This solution helps in identifying the child.
5. Teach important information
Teach the child that if he gets separated from his family, he should seek help from the nearest policeman or security personnel. Make him remember your name, parents’ names and mobile number.
6. Give a walkie-talkie or mobile phone
If the child is a little older, give him a walkie-talkie or a basic mobile phone, so that you can contact him if you get separated.
