Earthquake: Strong earthquake caused devastation in Taiwan; Intensity was 6.4, 27 people injured

Taiwan Earthquake: Strong earthquake tremors have once again been felt in Taiwan. The intensity of the earthquake was 6.4 and its center was located 12 kilometers north of Yujing in the country. According to the US Geological Survey, 27 people were injured in a 6.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Taiwan at 12.17 am on Tuesday. The roofs of many houses collapsed.

There has been no news of loss of life or property due to the earthquake in Taiwan. The rescue team is still busy assessing the damage. Taiwan's fire department said 27 people were sent to hospital with minor injuries. A child is also included among the injured. A bridge has also collapsed due to the strong tremors of the earthquake. Earlier in April 2024, an earthquake of 7.7 magnitude had occurred on the east coast. In which four people have died and more than 50 have been injured. During this period many big buildings had collapsed.

Let us tell you that Taiwan is located on the Ring of Fire of the Pacific Ocean. Due to which this country is considered highly sensitive to earthquakes, this area is situated between two tectonic plates. Due to which earthquakes occur frequently here. The 2016 earthquake in Taiwan killed more than 100 people, while a 7.3 magnitude earthquake in 1999 killed more than 2,000 people.
