The girl, resident of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, was married to a boy from Bhopal on 12 December 2019. The girl's lawyer Krishna Kumar Kunhare said that after the first night of marriage, the mother-in-law raised questions on the girl's virginity. The very next day after the wedding night, the mother-in-law called a girl from the neighborhood and asked why there were no blood splatters on the bedsheet. Based on this, the mother-in-law raised questions on the virginity of the daughter-in-law. Often used mental torture and started demanding Rs 2 lakh in dowry. The condition of the victim girl started deteriorating, during which she suffered a miscarriage for the first time in three months. Next time she gave birth to a baby girl but after 9 months and 9 days she also left this world.

Even for the third time when a daughter was born, her in-laws threw her out of the house because they wanted a son and not a daughter. The victim, being mentally fed up, approached the Indore District Court. In which she filed a case of domestic violence against her husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law and brother-in-law.
