  • Chopped Spinach – 2-3 cups
  • Gram flour – 3 cups
  • Rice flour – 1/4 cup
  • Chopped ginger – 2 tsp
  • Chopped Onion – 1/2 cup
  • Chopped green chillies – 2 teaspoons
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Cumin – 2 tsp
  • Celery – 1 tsp
  • Kasoori Methi – 2 teaspoons
  • oil for frying
  • Salt – as per taste

Method of preparation

  • Method of making Spinach Vada: To make Spinach Vada, first wash the spinach thoroughly and then break its stalk and chop it finely.
  • After this, chop onion, ginger and green chillies also. Now take a big bowl and add gram flour and rice flour in it and mix both well.
  • After this, add chopped green chillies, onion, celery, fenugreek seeds and mix. Then add red chili powder, cumin and other spices.
  • After mixing all the ingredients well, add finely chopped spinach and mix well. Due to moisture in spinach, the mixture will become wet, so there is no need to add extra water.
  • When the stuffing of spinach vada is ready, take the mixture in your hands and make vadas and keep them in a separate plate. Prepare Palak Vada using the entire mixture in the same manner.
  • Now put oil in a pan and heat it on medium flame. When the oil becomes hot, add spinach vada as per capacity in the pan and deep fry it. During this time increase the gas flame.
  • Fry the palak vadas from both the sides till they become golden and crisp. After this, take them out in a plate.
  • Fry all the spinach in the same manner. Serve with Palak Vada Chutney, rich in taste and nutrition.
